Blanc de Noir

This cuvée is a new approach to Cabernet Sauvignon for Château Puynard. A dry white, with a very slight tint that reminds us of it’s origins from Cabernet Sauvignon, we find notes of citrus fruits and peach, with a beautiful mouth where acidity and a little fattiness blend exceptionally well together.

Le Chêne

This great Cabernet Sauvignon wine is made using 100% new oak by vinification integral. A cold pre-fermentation maceration reveals beautiful aromas of black fruits and spices, while optimising an intense colour in the first hours of barreling. A tailor-made extraction reveals an ampleness and a density on the palate of a very high quality. The result is eloquent. 1200 bottles only.

Tradition

Rich flavour and suppleness on the palate characterise Château Puynard Tradition and represent with sincerity the terroir of the Château as a whole. Château Puynard Tradition is the result of the assembly of our wines selected according to the characteristics of the parcel and vinified separately in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. This cuvée is aged without oak to reflect the singularity of its origins. It is an unfined wine, lightly filtered.

The Steps

Merlot and old Cabernet Sauvignon vines, which profit from good sunlight exposure and set in clay-limestone soil, make up this top-of-the-range cuvée from Château Puynard. Vinified in stainless steel vats and then aged in French oak barrels (30% new barrels) for around 15 months, the batches are then blended and bottled after a light filtration, without fining. The result is a harmonious and complex whole, combining aromas of black fruits and toasted scents, giving volume and good structure.
