Background

Andrew Eakin

Andrew first began his journey in the wine trade in 2010 when he created the wine, beer and spirits shops ‘Bottle Apostle’ in London. The first was opened in Victoria Park while others then opened in Crouch End, Primrose Hill and Clapham. Moving from retail to the production and sales aspects of the industry has given him a much broader understanding of the whole process and certainly given him a much deeper appreciation for each bottle made, sold and consumed.

Ludwig Vanneron

Ludwig has an enriched experience of more than 22 years in the wine business acquired while working in 17 countries, holding the complementary positions of master winemaker, oenologist and estate manager, Ludwig brings a real know-how in the elaboration of wines and spirits, from raw material to finished product.

Isabelle Bolatre

Isabelle comes from a wine background - her grandmother was a wine merchant and her parents owned several gastronomic restaurants. She lived in England for 27 years in total working within the catering and wine business. During her time in London, Andrew and Isabelle worked together in the wine, beer and spirits shops ‘Bottle Apostle’ which was created by Andrew and opened its doors in 2010. Several years later, when Andrew and Naomi went to make wine in Bordeaux, Isabelle had also moved back to France. Coincidentally, she lived very close by, and subsequently joined the team.

Naomi Murtagh

Naomi went to art college in Limerick, Ireland and later specialised in Fashion. After her graduation both Andrew and Naomi made the move to Paris together where they both worked and gained various experience in their fields. From there, they moved to London where Naomi continued to work within the fashion and art industries for several years. The departure to becoming a vineyard owner was a leap, but enjoying the challenge, Naomi has taken on to lead the brand development.

David Bortot

David has been working within the wine trade for over 20 years gaining experience at various French establishments including Château Haut-Bailly. He then travelled to California and New Zealand to gain experience and knowledge further afield before returning to the Bordeaux region. We were delighted to welcome him into our team as directeur technique, over both vineyards, in 2021.

Frédéric Marchais

Vineyard manager and cellar master, Frédéric takes care of the vineyard and has been involved in winemaking for 30 years at Château Magdeleine Bouhou.

Originally hailing from a family of winegrowers, he also owns and operates a few hectares of his own vines at home. He is a very good ambassador for viticulture, he enjoys talking passionately about his work and to participate in the various events that the vineyards take part in.

Yann Couturier

Originally from Bordeaux and with a mother who worked in the wine industry, Yann quickly turned to the world of wine. With a technical background and commercial training, he likes to take part in the development of the cuvées, in the life of the properties and the distillery, in order to be able to better represent them.

Christiane Ceccato

Christiane began working at Chateau Puynard back in 2005. She has remained here ever since and plays an integral role in the day to day running of the two vineyards. Christiane will gladly turn her hand to anything, from helping with harvest to the pristine preparation and running of all three gites.

Pierre Malvy

Since the start of Pierre's career he has worked in and around the world of wine-making in this region, collecting a broad spectrum of experience along the way. Today, he is an important part of our team, and ensures that both the vineyards and the vines get the attention that they need and deserve.
